Blog: Body Butters aka Body Polish
We make a variety of body butters in our shop, from all natural with no additives to fragrance enhanced butters with delicious scents that can last on the skin throughout the day. The best part is even though we use additives in some we never skimp on the base recipe that can give your skin the moisturization and/or hydration that it needs.
The first recipe I discussed over the month was our Original Collection of Butters recipe that included Mango Butter, Cocoa Butter, and Coconut Oil. This recipe was created based off my need to protect my skin from environmental stressors, hydrate, nourish, and improve elasticity of skin. I wanted to introduce this recipe to the shop because we all combat issues in the environment on a daily basis. Not only do we have external stressors but internal stressors effect our skin as well. Using the butters can only do so much externally but they have a strong impact when used. Seeing the instant hydration and moisture on the skin and feeling the soothing properties to the skin are priority for me. I would never want to offer something that I wouldn't use myself.
We also ensure that we do not use high doses of fragrance across the board. A lot of people have sensitive skin or allergies that they may not be aware of until they have tried a new product and introducing a high dose fragrance is not what we stand on as a natural brand.
Sensitive skin being a priority as you saw with Calendula, I reworked and reintroduced Chocolate Smoothie and Aloe Love. These two amazing butters are staples in my home. Aloe Love is a lighter butter that is super hydrating as well as moisturizing and can be used on the face, skin, and hair. Over time the soothing result and change in skin appearance is amazing from what customers as well as ourselves have found.
A few properties of the Aloe Love:
Avocado Butter: Antioxidant & Anti-inflammatory
Aloe Butter: Skin Soothing, Rapid Rehydration, Anti-inflammatory
Mango Butter: Softens, Moisturizes, Vitamin E, Vitamin C
Coconut Oil: Emollient (Help Repairs Skin Barriers)
A few properties of Chocolate Smoothie:
Shea Butter: Emollient (Softens & Hydrates), Protects From Environmental Pollutants
Cocoa Butter: Protective Skin Barrier, Hydrate & Nourish The Skin & Improve Elasticity
Rosehip Seed Oil: Protect and Hydrate Skin, Can Help Reduce Wrinkles, And Fight Damage From Free Radicals In The Environment
If you see the pattern in the skin butters, you quickly realize they are all about protection, hydration, and moisturization. We continue to offer other butters in the store but these have been a favorite over time.
We also offer the customization needed for specific skin needs. Not quite sure a butter works for skin or you have an allergy that doesn't allow you to use specific types of butters? We can work directly with you, and offer something that is Just Your Brand of Beautiful.
